Responses to Solar UV-B Exclusion and Drought Stress in Two Cultivars of Chestnut Rose with Different Leaf Thickness

چکیده
Plants adopt a series of strategies to tolerate solar UV-B radiation (with the side effects growth reduction), but positive have not been yet clarified. In this study, two cultivars with different leaf thickness for Chestnut rose (Rosa roxburghii Tratt), pioneering species ecological restoration in Karst region Southwest China, were employed investigate its responses ultraviolet-B (UV-B) exclusion, moderate drought, and their combination an outdoor experiment. Thin-leaf (Gui 2) opportunistic strategy, growing better than Gui 7 under exclusion combined well-watered conditions. To avoid penetration wavelengths into underlying tissues, 2 exhibited higher enhancements thickness, palisade/spongy tissue ratio, antioxidant such as concentration flavonols compounds catalyse activity exposure. Moreover, ambient alleviated adverse impact caused by drought both cultivars, improving total biomass reducing membrane penetration. This alleviation may be related potential explanations. First, primes chestnut plants increased antioxidative capacity against stress, shown enzyme non-enzyme antioxidants (in particular, flavonol ratio [(quercetin+myricetin)/kaempferol]). Second, nutrition insufficiency, endows complementary on balance. Overall, helps stress that occurs frequently modulating

Growth and development responses to UV-B exclusion in crops
UV-B radiation affects crop plants. Growing interest has been shown in studying the effectsof UV-B radiation exclusion on crops since 1993. This article summarized the generalconsequences of UV-B radiation exclusion on crop plants from the aspacts of plant morphology, growth and development. UV-B exlusion has promoting effects on plant height, internodeand leaf size. UV-B exclusion increases roo...
متن کاملMorphological and physiological responses of two common bean cultivars to drought stress
Drought stress is the major problem in arid and semi-arid regions of the world. Investigating the response of different cultivars of crop plants to drought stress can help to select the tolerant ones for agriculture in arid lands. In this study, a greenhouse experiment was conducted as a factorial experiment based on completely randomized design with two common bean cultivars (Phaseolus vulgari...
متن کاملPhysiological responses of two tomato (Lycopersicun esculentum M.) cultivars to Azomite fertilizer under drought stress.
This study was conducted in order to investigate the effect of drought stress and Azomite fertilizer on some physiological traits of two tomato (Lycopersicon esculentum M.) cultivars (izmir and Izabella). A randomized complete design with factorial arrangement with three replications was used. Treatments consisted of three levels of irrigation including FC (control), FC (mild drought stress), a...
متن کاملDifferences in antioxidant, morphological and biochemical responses to drought stress in different cultivars of common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.)
Drought stress is the most common environmental stress that can significantly influence crop productivity. In this study, morphological and biochemical properties of 17 genotypes of common bean were evaluated under different levels of drought stress and the most sensitive and tolerant genotypes were identified using multivariate analysis. The results indicated that morphological and biochemical...
